Job Summary
The Developmental Specialist (DSP) provides person-centered supports to help individuals achieve personal goals, develop community relationships, participate in daily activities, and advocate for themselves. Responsibilities include assessing hopes and dreams, facilitating community participation, promoting self-determination, maintaining required documentation, assisting with daily home operations, transportation as needed, safety and emergency procedures, mentoring staff, and potentially overnight sleepovers in a residential setting. Requires a High School Diploma, a valid driver’s license, and experience with individuals who have mental health diagnoses or IDD/SUD; prior related caregiving experience is beneficial. The role emphasizes building positive, collaborative relationships, supporting rights and advocacy, and ensuring services align with each person’s plan and service definitions. Location: Southern Pines, NC; Part-time scheduling including weekends; starting pay $15/hour with comprehensive benefits offered.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (Required)
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience working with children or adults with mental health diagnosis, Intellectual/Developmental Disability, or Substance Use Disorder
