Job Summary
Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Physical Geography at the University of Colorado Boulder. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching a three-course-per-year load, rotating into a large introductory physical geography class and upper-division courses in the candidate’s area, and pursue externally funded research. Required skills include field methods, modeling, or remote sensing; and a commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence through research, teaching, mentoring, or sponsoring related initiatives. The appointment begins in August 2021 and focuses on societally relevant environmental questions related to Earth systems, including soil science, biogeography, climatology, watershed science, and cryosphere science.
Required Qualifications
- tenure-track appointment at Assistant Professor level
- training and experience in field methods, modeling, or remote sensing
- three-course teaching load per year including large introductory physical geography class and upper-division classes in candidate’s area
- ability to raise external research funding
- demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence in research, teaching, mentoring, or sponsoring relevant initiatives
