Job Summary
Job-Readiness Counselor responsible for developing youth work-readiness and social/job skills, facilitating orientations, workshops, and project-based learning; establish and maintain relationships with worksite supervisors; act as liaison to worksites; manage participant employment files; support payroll verification; assist with light administrative duties and program reporting; collaborate with Employment/Education Specialist, Job Developer, Education/Youth Employment Coordinator, and Program Aide; participate in team meetings and professional development; travel within NYC to various worksites; main location at 23-16 30th Avenue, Astoria, NY 11102; requires flexible schedule (8 am–11 pm) and ability to work with youth in group settings; bilingual English/Spanish a plus; fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or follow company protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; AA/AS degree a plus
- Minimum three years experience in Youth Services
- Minimum three years of supervisory experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word/Excel2010; Internet skills
- Excellent verbal, writing, math, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to serve as a strong role model and provide guidance to young workers
- Flexibility in schedule, including occasional evenings/weekends
- Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at start or adhere to enhanced protocols if required
