Job Summary
Field Superintendent of Modernization oversees elevator modernization projects, leading field technicians and multiple projects to meet safety, schedule, quality, and cost standards. Responsibilities include coordinating project scheduling, material procurement, field logistics, tracking progress and labor allocation, collaborating with sales/engineering/project management/service teams, managing invoicing and financial forecasting, and maintaining positive relationships with union representatives. Key duties also cover safety compliance, site inspections, coaching and training technicians, organizing inspections and scheduling, and serving as primary contact for customers, vendors, and internal teams with effective cross-functional communication. The role emphasizes leadership in multi-project backlogs, learning elevator modernization processes, and developing skills in project management and safety-focused execution.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical leadership experience or elevator industry experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant work experience in the elevator industry or related field
- Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage sensitive employee relations with proven leadership skills
- Proficiency in MS Office suite
- Strong organizational skills and experience managing tradespeople
- Flexibility to be on-call as needed
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Prior Project Management skills preferred
