Job Fair - Temporary, Exhibition Shop Associate

Exhibition Shop Associate at the Detroit Institute of Arts’ Museum Shop during a temporary, part-time engagement. Responsible for all sales functions, cash handling, reconciliations, and ensuring accurate deposits; provide excellent customer service on the sales floor; meet sales goals, KPI targets, and visitor satisfaction metrics; operate POS, manage inventory, and maintain knowledge of DIA collections and shop merchandise; work independently in exhibition/pop-up shops as needed; support a welcoming atmosphere and adhere to security procedures; must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays; proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and remote collaboration tools (e.g., Teams) and maintain professional interactions with staff and visitors; education and experience include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of retail experience; the role is temporary and part-time with a 28 hours/week schedule. The position begins mid-August and ends with the exhibition in early July 2027 and is museum-based with on-site work at the DIA in Detroit, MI.
