Job Summary
Establish and maintain relationships with employers, industry organizations, and public agencies to source job openings and secure employment and vocational training opportunities for jobseekers. Complete Job Placement Assessments for each participant, review cumulative background information prior to Placement Services, and collaborate on individual placement plans. Prepare participants for job seeking through mock interviews, resume preparation, and Work Experience Training. Identify opportunities in chosen sectors, establish minimum three interviews, conduct job site analyses to identify environmental barriers and reasonable accommodations, and provide follow-along services for up to 90 days. Develop effective coaching strategies to help participants overcome employment challenges and maintain jobs. Complete all required documentation and reports for the NYS Commission for the Blind.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Education, Business Administration, Communication
- Experience working with people with disabilities
- Minimum three years of experience
- Valid NYS Driver's License
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree is vocational rehabilitation preferred
- Five years preferred
- Experience with vocational training and placement services preferred
