Job Summary
Conduct job searches and cultivate employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities by building relationships with local businesses and stakeholders. Execute employer outreach through cold calls, in-person visits, job fairs, and networking events to identify and secure competitive placements. Assess client skills and work-readiness to match appropriate roles, while assisting with resume development, interview preparation, and coordinating job interviews and placements. Track employer contacts and participant progress in the agency database, ensuring compliance with program requirements and safety procedures at employment sites. Drive to transportation sites as needed and collaborate with direct support professionals to support job retention and career growth.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Driver's License
- Vehicle with current CT registration and insurance
- High school diploma or GED
- Flexible schedule to include occasional nights and weekends
- Ability to lift and transfer up to 30 lbs
- Ability to lift nonambulatory people occasionally
- Ability to stand, sit, use a telephone, and type at a computer
- Ability to complete all essential job duties, minimum qualifications, and physical efforts with or without a disability
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Business, or related field
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or other vulnerable populations
- Proven ability in sales, marketing, or job development roles, especially within workforce development or nonprofit sectors
- Strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills
- Knowledge of ADA, disability rights, and inclusive employment practices
