Job Summary
Media Analyst to work in Arlington, VA (mostly remote, 2 days on-site per month). Responsibilities include researching and analyzing domestic and international news to produce in-depth issue examinations; preparing briefings, executive summaries, communications assessments for senior government and military officials; leveraging media listening tools to analyze trends across major social media networks and news sites; monitoring short- and long-term trends related to officials’ issues of interest; and creating documents to prepare executives for media interviews. Job requires a Baccalaureate degree in relevant fields and at least two years of verifiable experience in media analysis, communications, international affairs, or related areas; proficiency with research/analytical software; ability to synthesize domestic and foreign DoD-related media coverage; understanding of DoD structure and policies; and ability to work under deadline pressure. Minimum Clearance: Active Secret
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited university or college with emphasis in media analysis, communications, international affairs, market research, or related areas
- Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable experience in media analysis, communications, international affairs, market research, or related areas
- Proficiency with research and analytical software tools
- Advanced skills in applying software for anticipatory, ongoing, and last-minute research and analysis, including identifying top-line trends, sub-trends, and delivering concise, accurate reports or verbal presentations
- Ability to conduct media analysis of DoD and national security agencies
- Basic knowledge of DoD structure, functions, and major policies
- Commitment to ethical conduct, customer service, and diversity
- Ability to work under deadline pressure
- Active Secret clearance
