Job Summary
Payroll Technician (Temporary, Full-Time) responsible for accurate and timely payroll and benefits administration for City employees; work independently with cross-department collaboration; ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and customer service; position located in Kamloops, Canada; CUPE Local 900; probationary checks include police information check; benefits package included; temporary until approximately July 2027; role emphasizes processing, compliance, and supporting payroll operations with attention to trust and security.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of senior secondary school or its equivalent
- Completion of the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification from the Canadian Payroll Association
- Proficient in intermediate Word and intermediate Excel as demonstrated through testing (70% pass rate required)
- Minimum of one year’s previous full cycle payroll experience
- Police information check required for new hires and those in designated positions of trust working with vulnerable persons
