Job Summary
Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise directory services, DNS/DHCP systems, and mission-critical infrastructure including email, LMS, SSO, and backup servers. Manage user account lifecycles, perform file system configuration, and execute server application upgrades, security fixes, and OS patching. Prioritize and resolve complex help desk tickets, specify hardware/software requirements for learning management systems, and provide project leadership for technology implementations. Ensure systems remain operational, recoverable, and optimized while promoting effective technology use through automation and documentation. Requires five years of related experience and strong Linux/Unix or Windows command-line skills.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 plus two (2) year post-secondary diploma in computer science or equivalent
- Five (5) years' related experience
- Strong system administration (Linux/Unix or Windows) at the command-line level
- Experience with running and maintaining scripting (PowerShell, Puppet, Chef, etc.)
- Ability to deal with instructors, coworkers, and outside clients/vendors with courtesy and tact
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to coordinate, plan and organize work and work with competing deadlines
- Ability to exercise considerable independent action
- Ability to learn new technology quickly and relay it to others
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex problems
- Ability to carry out technical research
- Demonstrated ability to work with complex systems
- Travel required
