Job Summary

Lead and develop the Electrical Engineering organization for human-rated Extravehicular Mobility Units and commercial space infrastructure, establishing unified standards, governance, and design assurance across mission-critical systems. Oversee the full electrical engineering lifecycle from requirements through certification, providing technical oversight for avionics architectures, power systems, and spacecraft electronics while managing cross-program coordination with NASA and industry partners. Build a strong leadership bench, foster a culture of accountability, and drive adoption of advanced digital engineering methods to enhance product quality. Requires 10+ years in aerospace electrical engineering and 8+ years in engineering leadership; U.S. citizenship required due to security clearances.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizens or permanent residents
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use
  • 10 or more years of progressive electrical engineering experience within aerospace, spacecraft, or human-rated systems
  • 8 or more years of engineering leadership experience, including managing managers and large multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated success leading engineering organizations in complex, fast-paced, mission-driven environments
  • Proven ability to develop and implement engineering standards, processes, and governance frameworks
  • Extensive experience working with NASA programs, standards, and human-rated system requirements
  • Direct involvement in full lifecycle development of electrical flight hardware from concept through certification and mission readiness
  • Experience driving cross-program alignment, resource planning, and organizational scaling within a centralized engineering structure
  • Strong background collaborating with government agencies, high-profile customers, and industry partners on mission-critical systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in an engineering field, particularly with aerospace or human-spaceflight relevance
  • Direct experience with spacecraft electrical power systems, avionics integration, or communication architectures
  • Prior experience with EVA systems, extravehicular equipment, or human-rated portable electronics
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering methodologies
  • Track record of implementing organizational process improvements and technical standards that achieved measurable results
