Job Summary
Own the end-to-end technical execution of spacecraft pressure control and fluid systems, including COPVs, flow control devices, and manifolds from requirements through design, build, integration, test, and flight readiness. Serve as a subject matter expert on system architecture and component selection while performing detailed modeling and simulation using tools like GFSSP, ANSYS, and Fluent. Lead cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver against aggressive cost, schedule, and safety targets, managing design gate reviews and coordinating technical requirements with external vendors. Define and control interfaces between fluid systems and vehicle-level teams, providing mentorship to less experienced engineers. Requires 7+ years of propulsion hardware experience, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and willingness to work evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizens or permanent residents
- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones
- 7 or more years of relevant experience with demonstrated depth in pressure control and fluid systems design
- Significant hands-on experience with propellant feed system design, development, qualification and integration, including COPVS, valves, regulators, filters, manifolds and instrumentation
- Expertise in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and heat transfer with demonstrated application to propulsion systems
- Experience with oxygen compatibility requirements and assessments
- Experience coordinating with external vendors on technical requirements, design verification, cost and schedule performance
- 3D modeling software experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Aerospace, Mechanical or related Engineering discipline
