Job Summary
Gather individuals at the agency, transport them in the agency van to work sites, explain tasks, ensure safety procedures are followed, and supervise work to maintain productivity. Transport workers back to the agency or residences after work. Write service notes for each individual, document and verify daily data collection, and intervene to address any problems while reporting incidents timely. Adhere to all regulations, policies, and protocols set forth by NY OPWDD, NY Justice Center, Centers for Medicare/Medicaid, and Abbott House. Establish positive working relationships with persons receiving services, co-workers, management, and the public. Participate in scheduled program meetings, including staff meetings and in-service trainings. Provide support or coverage to other areas as needed. Operate office equipment including fax, copier, and scanner, and use a computer to learn required software programs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Completion of State and Agency mandated training
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Represent yourself and the Agency in a professional and courteous manner
- Know, understand, and continually practice the Agency's Standards of Conduct
- Must be able to use a computer and able to learn software programs
- Must be able to operate a fax, copier, scan, and other office equipment
- Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in the English language
- Must be able to write in the English language using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Must be able to frequently lift 0-25 lbs.
- Must be able to occasionally lift 25-50 lbs.
- Must be able to rarely lift over 50 lbs.
- Must be able to frequently push/pull 0-25 lbs. of force
- Must be able to occasionally push/pull 26-45 lbs. force
- Must be able to rarely push/pull over 45 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand and walk throughout the work day
- Must be able to occasionally stoop
- Must be able to occasionally kneel
- Must be able to occasionally crouch
- Must be able to frequently work in an office environment
- Must be able to tolerate moderate noise levels
- Must be able to tolerate increased noise levels due to yelling or screaming by participants
Desired Qualifications
- One year experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred
