Job Summary
Teach individuals independent job skills using job task analysis, job-specific supports, and assistive technology. Work side-by-side with individuals at the job site to analyze requirements and break tasks into manageable components. Build a support network between the individual and community members while communicating progress to employers, families, and residential staff. Accurately complete all documentation and cooperate with license and department staff during inspections or investigations. This part-time role in Cookeville, TN, supports individuals with developmental disabilities in community-based employment settings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years' full-time work experience in employment or related field
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
- Ability to analyze a job and break it into manageable components
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in a crisis situation
- Ability to present ideas and factual data in a clear concise manner
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals
- Ability to read and write English
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
