Job Summary
Provide direct instruction to students at internship sites and teach up to three functional academic courses per term related to employment. Maintain working relationships with internship partners while completing student records, logs, and reports, including mentoring and assisting with portfolio preparation. Participate in weekly employment team meetings, departmental training events, and problem-solving conferences for field work issues. Plan and implement appreciation events and support student interviewing processes. This role supports the Path to Academics, Community and Employment program for young adults with developmental disabilities in Chicago, requiring flexibility with weekend and evening hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Special Education, Human Services field, or related field
- 3-5 years of previous experience in workforce or related field
- Must be able to be flexible with work hours, including weekend and evening hours
- Will require some travel on public transportation
- Ability to move or lift boxes up to 50 lbs
- Must be prepared for local travel
