Job Summary
Job Coach to provide hands-on, step-by-step training and ongoing advocacy to help individuals with IDD build great work habits, learn new skills, and hit employment goals. Responsibilities include on-the-job training, workplace advocacy with employers to set up accommodations, independence-building (transportation and workplace social skills), assisting with paperwork and benefits, coordinating peer support, and conducting regular check-ins at the job site. Requires certifications within nine months (CESP from APSE or ACRE credential) and strong communication, transportation to worksites, patience, creativity, and problem-solving.
Required Qualifications
- A Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) credential from the Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE)
- A Basic Employment Services Certificate of Achievement or a Professional Certificate in Employment Services from an Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) member
