Job Summary
The Driver is responsible for picking up and delivering goods efficiently and serves as a Job Coach/Employment Specialist to assist participants in attaining and retaining community employment. Responsibilities include following daily routes with ~15 stops/hour, using Savers app to locate pickups, handling safe vehicle operation, completing paperwork (notes, timecards), loading/unloading trucks, providing receipts to customers, communicating professionally, working as part of a team, maintaining a clean vehicle, reporting property damage, and meeting production guidelines for safety checks, paperwork, and customer service. Requires ability to lift 50-100 pounds occasionally and 10-20 pounds frequently; operates a cube van in the Anchorage, AK area; strong knowledge of local road systems and adherence to training for safety and CPR/First Aid.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- One-year experience working with people who experience developmental disabilities is strongly preferred
- Prefer a minimum of 5 years of driving experience
- Valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance
- Background checks as defined by licensing agencies
- TB Assessment
- Satisfactory completion of Arc driver’s paid training or be able to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications
