Job Summary
Full-time Job Coach in the Bronx providing hands-on training and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Manage a caseload of 10-20 clients, primarily at job sites; teach and support new workers through task demonstrations, modeling, counseling, observation, and discussion; provide training to workers with disabilities to ensure success in their roles; travel to transport new workers from home to job sites; write detailed service notes after each session to monitor progress and outcomes. Requires ability to work a flexible schedule with hours that may include early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred; one year of related experience and a High School diploma or GED are preferred. AHRC NYC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 1 year experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred
- Direct Support Professional (DSP) experience preferred
- Understanding of Person Centered Planning
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel to job sites and route new workers from home to work sites
- Flexibility in scheduling including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
