Job Summary
Provide top-tier direct support services to a team of adults with disabilities across various sites in Southern Arizona. Train, supervise, and collaborate with staff while delivering quality care dependent on specific location needs. Perform hands-on tasks including using power tools, machinery, and equipment, while maintaining physical capabilities to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate environmental conditions like heat or dust. Write accurate case notes and communicate effectively with clients, staff, and the public. This role offers a $500 sign-on bonus and includes a Monday-Friday schedule. Beacon Group, a non-profit serving over 2,000 individuals annually, focuses on career development and job placement for people with disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Minimum of six months of experience working with adults with disabilities
- Increased technical skills related to field of work
- Successfully pass the drug test and background check
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or able to obtain and maintain a CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
- Fingerprint clearance card, or able to obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card
- Provide proof of good driving
- Have a valid Arizona Driver's License and pass the Beacon driving test
- Article IX, and Prevention and Support certificate or able to obtain and maintain certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain a GSA clearance
- Ability to balance, bend, stand, walk, kneel, twist, stretch, climb, and sit
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Ability to write accurate, clear, and informative case notes
- Ability to tolerate environmental conditions, such as hot, cold, wetness, dust, noise, etc
- Ability to work, drive and travel independently to various sites
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work effectively with staff, clients, and the public
- Ability to be flexible and work in a team environment
- Ability to use good judgment
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to learn and use equipment
- Ability to use power tools, equipment, and machinery
