Job Summary

Provide architectural support and consultation from late Design Development through building permit submittal and Construction Administration for K–12 projects. Apply advanced architectural concepts to respond to educational program needs and code requirements, while reviewing drawings and details to ensure they meet established standards and DSA specifications. Monitor project budgets and schedules, maintain accurate documentation, and prepare reports, specifications, and technical documents as needed. Build positive relationships with clients, consultants, and internal teams, and supervise technical staff through redlining and quality-checking work. This role requires 3+ days per week onsite at the Irvine, Pleasanton, or San Diego office. Join an award-winning firm with decades of experience designing communities that promote human fulfillment.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of building codes, with an understanding of how different project types and occupancies impact building design and construction
  • Proven experience producing complete construction document sets from start to finish
  • Solid skills in SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Revit/BIM
  • Hands‐on experience working in the construction phases of projects (CA, RFIs, submittals, etc.)
  • Self‐motivated, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a coordinated project team
  • Strong problem‐solving skills, sound judgment, good listening skills, and reliable follow‐through
  • Excellent graphic, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and provide clear direction to architectural staff
  • 3+ years of professional experience in architecture, including at least 1 year serving as a Job Captain
  • California K–12 project experience and DSA experience
  • Professional architectural degree from a NAAB‐accredited 4‐ or 5‐year program
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth, ideally including progress toward architectural licensure
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer
