Job Summary
Job Administration/Production Control Technician monitors job flows using the CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries) scheduling system across z/OS mainframe, UNIX, and PeopleSoft environments. Responsibilities include responding quickly to job failures by determining root cause and contacting on-call staff for remediation, migrating software to production or test environments, documenting problems, setting up job flow dependencies, and executing/troubleshooting test flows. Preferred skills include extensive production control experience with mainframe or mid-range systems, troubleshooting JCL errors with GDGs, familiarity with File-AID, IDCAMS, z/OS JCL/TSO/ISPF, mainframe build processes, FTP/SFTP tools (FTPS/Connect:Direct), SDLC concepts, and knowledge of IMS, UNIX, PUTTY/WinSCP, and Rational tools (ClearQuest/ClearCase); strong communication, organizational, analytical skills, and familiarity with PeopleSoft People Tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field
- 3-5 years scheduling experience with Windows-based scheduling system
- 5 years of experience escalating and documenting critical job failures and schedule problems
- 5 years of hands-on troubleshooting involving scheduler, batch processes, and cycle flows
- Knowledge of z/OS JCL and TSO/ISPF
- Experience with mainframe/ mid-range systems
- Experience with CA Workload Automation DE or similar enterprise scheduling package
