Job Summary
Certified X-Ray Technologist responsibilities include verifying patient identity and reviewing orders, using X-ray equipment to capture radiographic images per physician orders, explaining procedures to patients, positioning patients (including lifting/moving with limited mobility), minimizing radiation exposure with lead shields, ensuring image quality, coordinating with the resident Radiologist to determine further tests if needed, ensuring equipment is maintained and reporting issues, and maintaining accurate procedure records. Requires NY license, radiologic technology degree (Bachelor’s or Associate), and ARRT is preferred; new graduates welcome; per-diem, temporary role with benefits. Salary up to $60/hr.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor's or associate's degree in radiologic technology, radiology, or a related field
- Must have a New York State License
- ARRT Certification is preferred
- Medical background (EMT, CMA, Medical Assistant) is preferred
