Job Summary
RN Health Care Facility Surveyor provides nationwide support as a remote role with up to 75% travel. The position conducts on-site surveys of Medicare-Medicaid certified health care facilities to determine compliance with Federal regulations and survey protocols across a range of settings (e.g., long-term care facilities, hospitals, ASC, ICFs/IID, ESRD, PRTF, hospice). Requires CMS Long-Term Care Basic Training and SMQT, an RN license, and a nursing degree, plus 2+ years of survey experience. Responsibilities include off-site preparation, facility tours, care observation, record reviews, staff/family interviews, and communicating non-compliance issues. The role may involve training facility and bureau staff, participating in work groups, and coordinating plans of correction. Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- CMS Long-Term Care Basic Training
- Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT)
- At least two (2) years of recent experience as a surveyor accrediting or certifying facilities serving residents of long-term care facilities
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Demonstrated independent decision-making skills to direct and manage the survey process
- Ability to set priorities independently and collaboratively in performing survey tasks
- Ability to discuss conflicts openly and seek assistance to make decisions and resolve conflicts
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time on a regular basis
