Job Summary
RN Health Care Facility Surveyor conducts on-site and remote surveys to assess compliance with Federal regulations across a range of healthcare facilities, serving as a team member or leader on surveys such as re-certifications, comparative reviews, complaint investigations, and revisits. Travel is up to 75% and the role is remote nationwide, coordinating with facilities and staff to apply approved survey protocols, perform observations, record reviews, and interviews, and communicate non-compliance issues with site personnel. The position emphasizes independent decision-making, prioritization, and collaboration to resolve deficiencies and implement plans of correction, with opportunities for training and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- CMS’s Long-Term Care Basic Training
- Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT)
- At least two (2) years of recent experience as a surveyor accrediting or certifying long-term care facilities
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Demonstrated independent decision-making skills in directing survey processes
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
