Job Summary
Clear and reset dining tables, refresh drinks, and manage set-up and break-down of the restaurant while maintaining strict adherence to OVI standards for presentation, body language, and verbiage. Anticipate guest needs, handle complaints or concerns, and address potential intoxicated or disruptive guests by informing management of issues and solutions. Pour water from the right, clear tables quietly from the right, crumb vacant place settings between courses, and inform the Host when tables are re-set. Monitor schedules for arrival times, ensure proper uniform and personal appearance, and report unsafe conditions or employee accidents to management. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to support the resort's goal of exceeding high guest expectations.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English Language
- Ability to work a flexible workweek including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, when business requires
- Ability to work weekends as scheduled
- Ability to follow the OVI standards of Presentation
- Ability to follow the OVI standards of Body Language
- Ability to follow the OVI standards of Verbiage

- Ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the Manager, resort management, and staff
- Ability to constantly monitor appearance, attitude and degree of professionalism to ensure strict adherence to the OVI's standards of quality service
- Ability to follow proper payroll and uniform procedures
- Ability to offer guests of the restaurant an enjoyable, expertly served beverage/dining experience conforming to Service and Training Manual
- Ability to be knowledgeable about the dining room
- Ability to always have their 'tools of the trade' on their person during shift
- Ability to pour the water into each guest's glass from the right hand side
- Ability to inform the guest that they will return momentarily
- Ability to always clear from the right
- Ability to remove any used silverware when clearing
- Ability to crumb the vacant place settings between each course
- Ability to clear all items from vacated tables as quickly and as quietly as possible
- Ability to inform the Host/est when a table has been completely re-set
- Ability to ascertain a guest's satisfaction and handle any problem, which may arise informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolved
- Ability to check schedule on a regular basis for arrival times and changes in them
- Ability to be aware of appearance, quality of work, and attitudes with guests
- Ability to wear proper uniform and maintain high standard in regards to personal appearance as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Ability to arrive at your work area at time listed in schedule
- Ability to attend all required meetings
- Ability to ensure all Human Resource policies and practices are applied consistently while adhering to all Federal, State and Local laws
- Ability to promote teamwork and foster a harmonious working climate
