Job Summary
Jig Grind operator needed to set up and operate jig grinding machines to grind precision holes, contours, and surfaces. Responsibilities include reading blueprints/engineering drawings and GD&T, selecting/installing grinding wheels and tooling, inspecting finished parts with micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and optical comparators, maintaining dimensions and inspection records, adjusting machine settings, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting quality issues, maintaining a safe, organized work area, and collaborating with machinists, toolmakers, engineers, and quality personnel. Requires a high school diploma or GED, experience with jig grinding or precision grinding equipment, GD&T proficiency, and strong measuring-instrument knowledge; CNC jig grinding experience and familiarity with Moore/Mitsui/Hauser jig grinders, plus technical or vocational machining/manufacturing training are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience operating jig grinding or precision grinding equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and understand geometric tolerancing (GD&T)
- Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- CNC jig grinding experience
- Experience with Moore, Mitsui, or Hauser jig grinders
- Knowledge of precision tooling and fixture manufacturing
- Technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing
