Job Summary

Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines, adapting instruction to meet individual student needs. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing while managing classroom behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per Individual Education Plans and work with instructional aides to assign and oversee work completion. Establish professional relationships with parents, students, and colleagues while participating in faculty meetings and staff development activities. Maintain all required reports, records, and files, ensuring compliance with state and district regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
  • Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate
