Job Summary
JH US History Teacher/Girls Coach responsible for delivering US History instruction and coaching duties. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum, assess student learning using formal and informal methods, and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners. Sponsor extracurricular activities, collaborate with other staff including special education to modify curricula as needed, manage classroom behavior, communicate with parents, and participate in staff development. Maintain professional responsibilities, follow district safety protocols, and ensure compliance with Texas Education Agency guidelines. The role includes teaching core content, planning and using appropriate instructional strategies, and supervising instructional aides and volunteers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
