Job Summary
Jewelry Service Consultant at Day’s Jewelers responsible for supporting sales with POS transactions, jewelry restoration and service intake, minor repairs (engraving, battery replacement), product receiving/shipping, special order placement/tracking, and processing of credit and layaway payments. Must greet customers professionally, understand warranty policies, manage multiple service tasks in a fast-paced environment, maintain repair intake standards, ensure timely completion/pickup of repairs, and provide excellent customer service while supporting the jewelry sales team. Requires strong communication and conflict-resolution skills, computer literacy, and the ability to maintain organized records, prep items for pickup, and uphold POS procedures. Education: High School Diploma or GED; preferred: 2+ years in retail/customer-service roles and jewelry-related certifications (JA, DCA, GIA). Competencies emphasize client advocacy, clear communication, attention to detail, relationship building, process efficiency, ethical conduct, conflict resolution, and ownership mindset. The role operates in a jewelry service area with typical store hours, including evenings and holidays, with OSHA-compliant safety expectations.
