Job Summary
Safely operate Jetty Container Cranes, Dock Tractors, Front Loading Shovel, Ash Cranes, and other mobile plant under supervisor direction. Expedite barge unloading and reloading to optimize waste supply to the tipping hall and bunker. Supervise tipping hall operations and waste audits while ensuring strict compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Operational procedures. Identify and report all accidents, incidents, and safety infringements immediately to the Supervisor or Shift Team Leader. Prevent unauthorized waste deposits and report all incidents to management. Implement work procedures and review site safety rules as necessary, while understanding and reporting all environmental concerns under the Riverside 1 Environmental Management System.
Required Qualifications
- Mobile Plant / Crane background and experience
- Willingness to undertake a variety of challenging tasks to meet the operational needs of the plant
- A self-motivated individual who can work on their own initiative, who takes a proactive approach to work
- Have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to colleagues and contractors
- An appreciation of Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
- Day Shift: Monday to Friday 0600 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00 in alternate weeks
- Night Shift: Five nights a week, 22:00 to 06:00
Desired Qualifications
- Operational qualifications or equivalent
- Experience of working within Energy from Waste or another similar environment
