Job Summary
JeffSTAT Registered Nurse in Critical Care Transport, nights, 36 hours per week, providing patient- and family-centered care. Develops and implements nursing plans of care with the patient and designated care partner(s) to address individualized needs and priorities, consistent with cultural beliefs and values. Collaborates with co-workers and inter-professional teams; integrates evidence-based practice and clinical expertise; uses data to monitor outcomes and supports continuous improvements. Provides patient and family education, participates in safety and quality initiatives, and demonstrates commitment to ongoing professional development. Minimum qualifications include nursing-focused competencies across assessment, care planning, education, documentation, discharge planning, and collaboration, with required RN licensure and relevant certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS) as outlined in the role.
Required Qualifications
- Specialized Diploma; Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Active RN license required; state of practice PA; PA license (and/or other states per start date) within 6 months as applicable
- Knowledge of patient- and family-centered care and ability to collaborate with patients/families/designated care partners in care planning
- Cultural awareness and ability to engage with patients from diverse backgrounds
- Effective communication skills; ability to convey respect and collaborate with patients/families and care partners
- Ability to assess patients, plan and provide nursing care, and apply nursing diagnoses or clinical judgment
- Proficiency in patient and designated care partner education; ability to educate on condition, treatment, medications, and next steps
- Knowledge of medication administration and prescription processes for continuing treatment
- Discharge planning knowledge; ability to coordinate post-discharge needs and follow-up care
- Health information documentation knowledge; ability to accurately record medical histories, treatments, diagnoses, and care plans in written/electronic form
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) and ACLS; PALS/NRP/BLS/ATLS or equivalent certifications as required within stated timelines
- Ability to work in a high-stakes transport/critical care setting including patient assessment and safety considerations
- PHRN certification considered a preferred qualification; related certifications such as CTRN/MICN may be valued
