Job Summary
Assist coaches in promoting sports within the school and community while organizing and supervising practices. Teach individual fundamental skills, team strategies, rules, and regulations, alongside fostering sportsmanship and self-control. Conduct learning experiences with small groups of student athletes and check eligibility, including insurance coverage and parent consent. Serve as a role model providing emotional support, patience, and guidance to students. Recommend equipment, supplies, and uniforms appropriate for athlete health and safety.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate as required by Kentucky law
- 64 semester hours college credit
- Proof of Adult CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
- NFHS Coaching Principles Certification
- KRS 160.445– Heat Related Emergency Training
- Official transcripts and diplomas
- Coaches Code of Ethics Form
- Current W4 Form
- Current Medical Exam with TB test
- Criminal records check
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security Card, verifying minimum age of 21 years old
- Concussion training
- Physical Restraint & Seclusion Training
- Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Training
- KMA/KHSAA Sports Safety Course
- KHSAA Sport Specific Rules Clinic
- Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Fundamentals of various sports
- Health and safety regulations
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
- Assist coaches on one or more sports
- Understand and follow oral and written directions
- Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures
