Java Technical Lead with MUMPS

Job Summary
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Java-based enterprise applications while modernizing legacy MUMPS systems by integrating or migrating functionality to Java platforms. Develop and support applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices, analyzing existing MUMPS code to troubleshoot issues and implement enhancements. Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, and mentoring development teams, while designing scalable architectures and ensuring adherence to coding standards. Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions, optimize performance and security, and participate in Agile ceremonies. Required Qualifications
- Java technical lead experience
- MUMPS expertise
- Strong background in Java/J2EE technologies
- Hands-on experience in MUMPS (M Language)
- Experience with healthcare systems such as VistA, RPMS, or other MUMPS-based applications
- Ability to lead technical teams
- Ability to drive architecture decisions
- Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders
- Experience delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions
- Experience leading design, development, and maintenance of Java-based enterprise applications
- Experience modernizing legacy MUMPS applications by integrating or migrating functionality to Java-based platforms
- Experience developing and supporting applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices
- Ability to analyze existing MUMPS code, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements
- Ability to provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring to development teams
- Ability to design scalable system architectures
- Knowledge of coding standards and best practices
- Experience collaborating with business analysts, product owners, and QA teams
- Experience optimizing application performance, security, and reliability
- Experience participating in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and technical estimations
- Ability to create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and deployment guides
