Job Summary
Senior Lead Software Engineer in JPMorgan Chase's Connected Commerce Technology group responsible for guiding technical direction, delivering secure, scalable production code, and influencing product design. The role involves providing technical guidance to teams and vendors, reviewing and debugging code, driving SDLC practices, acting as a subject-matter expert, promoting modern frameworks and tools, and fostering an inclusive team culture. Required skills include Java, React, Spring Boot, backend design, SQL/NoSQL data stores, automation and CI/CD, full SDLC participation, and strong communication in a large corporate environment. Location: New York, NY (on-site).
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience
- Proficient in Java, React, Spring Boot and Web Development
- Strong backend Java experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience using and designing schemas, data structures in SQL or NoSQL databases
- Travel or Hospitality experience
- Hands-on in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment, with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with a growth mindset and a sense of urgency and pride in work
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence engineering decisions
- Experience with data structures and algorithms to solve business problems
- Java preferred, .NET a plus
- Experience across the Software Development Life Cycle in large corporate environments
- Strong written and verbal communication
