Java Software Engineer

Job Summary
Design, develop, test, and maintain large-scale distributed software applications and services in Java, specifically engineering platforms that enable vehicles to communicate with the cloud. Contribute to the delivery of scalable, reliable systems by participating in technical design discussions, writing clean, maintainable code, and supporting peer reviews. Work with APIs, data structures, and cloud-based environments to build, improve, and support software across the full development lifecycle, while helping monitor and troubleshoot production services. Support build, integration, and deployment activities to improve development processes and team efficiency within an agile, international environment in Wrocław.
Required Qualifications
- Solid hands-on programming experience in Java (17+)
- Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit5, Mockito and Testcontainers
- Familiarity with APIs, web services, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices
- Experience with microservices-based systems, ideally using Spring Boot
- Experience with relational databases
- Exposure to NoSQL databases
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider, ideally AWS
- Understanding of the fundamentals of good software design
- Experience building or contributing to distributed systems and modern software applications
- Familiarity with containerised workloads and modern development practices, including tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Proactive, collaborative and comfortable reaching out to others to solve problems and unblock delivery
- Willingness to get involved in problem resolution and helping improve the operational health of production services
- Hybrid working (minimum 6 days per month onsite)
