Java Software Engineer (Singapore)

Job Summary
Develop and improve Java-based products like ProGuard and DexGuard by researching code-hardening, optimization, and application-processing techniques. Investigate, reproduce, and debug complex technical issues while collaborating with customers and internal teams to solve challenging engineering problems involving Java bytecode and compiler technology. Maintain a large, mature codebase and enhance software quality through extensive testing. This full-time, office-based role in Singapore reports to the local Managing Director and R&D Team Lead. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Singapore; visa sponsorship is not provided.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- At least 2–3 years of relevant software engineering experience
- Excellent Java skills
- Experience working with large or complex codebases
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with low-level programming and debugging
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly and collaborate directly with customers
- An interest in software security and reverse engineering
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Singapore at the time of application

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of compiler technology, Java bytecode, or complex application processing
- Experience with code obfuscation or optimization techniques
- Knowledge of information security
- Experience with reverse engineering and commonly used tools
- Familiarity with Android and Android build tools such as Gradle and ProGuard
