Job Summary
Java Engineer to join Eclipse Trading's Framework & Trading Systems Development team, responsible for an in-house derivatives trading system spanning order execution, pricing, risk management, P&L and real-time data transformation/distribution. Responsibilities include designing/implementing solutions to manage orders and risk, participating in code reviews, engaging with traders and quants to gather requirements, contributing to greenfield development and refactoring with Java 21 and Kafka, and providing Tier 3 support. Requires strong Java design/development skills, distributed-systems experience, automated testing mindset, and a CS-related degree. On-site role based in Sydney, Australia; note there is a potential Senior Software Engineer path for more experienced candidates.
Required Qualifications
- University Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Excellent core Java design and development skills
- 1-5 years of relevant experience in building distributed systems in Java
- Strong believer in automated testing and collaboration with colleagues
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
