Java Software Engineer

Job Summary
Java Software Engineer collaborating with product and design teams to translate end-user requirements into pragmatic, scalable backend solutions. Responsible for shaping and implementing technology-enabled business solutions, developing and delivering user stories, writing tests, and integrating RESTful services within a microservices-based architecture. Works with various JVM-based languages (Java 8+, Kotlin) and modern backend frameworks (Spring Boot), leverages container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes), and participates in CI/CD pipelines. Focuses on building secure, scalable distributed applications and contributing to the technology stack while collaborating with internal IT teams to manage dependencies. Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, service discovery, circuit breakers, and agile methodologies is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar
- Experience with Java 8+ and Kotlin and/or Spring Boot
- Significant experience with RESTful APIs in large scale distributed applications
- Experience with microservice architectures and service discovery/circuit breakers
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, CouchDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch)
- Experience with Maven, Gradle, CI (Jenkins) and/or Azure Pipelines
- Experience in engineering practices such as code refactoring, design patterns, TDD, CI, scalable applications, and application security
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes is a plus
- Experience with Agile development
- Knowledge of NodeJS/Go/Python is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar, advanced degree preferred with outstanding academic record
