Job Summary

Java Developer is responsible for writing high-quality code based on design specifications, coding, unit testing, and documenting solutions. Essential duties include participating in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle to implement complex applications, ensuring code adheres to strict standards, and effective communication within a software development team. Candidates should have proficiency in core Java and J2EE, experience with frameworks like Spring and Hibernate, and familiarity with RESTful APIs and SQL performance tuning. A strong understanding of both backend technologies (such as Solr and Spring) and frontend technologies (such as Angular and JavaScript) is requested.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2+ years of development experience in core Java and J2EE technologies
  • Experience in implementing solutions using industry standard open source frameworks such as Spring framework, Hibernate, Logging Frameworks, Object caching, JUnit, integration patterns
  • Experience in developing solutions using Open Source software tools like Eclipse, SVN and GitHub
  • Experience in SQL query troubleshooting/performance tuning
  • Experience in working with offshore and onsite teams
  • Experience with RESTful APIs
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong Java/javascript developer
  • Programming and administrative experience with Solr search engine (or similar products such as Elastic search)
  • Spring knowledge
  • Indexing full text search technologies such as Solr and/or Fusion and/or Elastic Search and/or Lucene knowledge
  • Webservices Rest and SOAP (Optional)
  • Some basic design patterns knowledge, Factory, Delegate, Singleton
  • SQL
  • Jquery, Jquery ui
  • Angular
  • Javascript
  • Ajax

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with semantic search and machine learning algorithms
  • Familiarity with Natural Language Processing libraries such as OpenNLP, API.AI
  • Nice to have: NoSQL
