Job Summary
Design and develop robust Java back-end systems (Java 11+ with Spring Boot) for BlackRock’s Aladdin PTA, lead design discussions and architecture sessions, build and maintain microservices and event-driven data pipelines processing high-volume financial data across Snowflake, SQL Server, Redis, and Kafka, and collaborate with product and operations to align technical solutions with business goals.
Required Qualifications
- B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- 3+ years of professional experience in Java and object-oriented design
- Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, REST APIs, and enterprise integration patterns
- Deep expertise in SQL Server, including stored procedures, performance tuning, and data modeling
- Experience with Redis for caching or data persistence
- Hands-on exposure to Kafka or similar publish-subscribe systems for real-time event processing
- Familiarity with Snowflake and data pipeline concepts (ETL, batch vs. streaming)
- Experience with Agentic coding and general understanding of how LLMs are working
- Strong focus on clean architecture, maintainability, and production readiness
- Nice to Have: Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native environments (AWS/GCP), observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry), Python for automation or data analysis
- Exposure to Prompt Engineering and Agentic AI
- Interest in financial systems, accounting, or investment technology
