Job Summary
Lead backend engineers across multiple agile teams, splitting time between design, coding, and coaching others while solving difficult problems. Translate requirements from product owners, mobile engineers, and business members into well-engineered solutions within multidisciplinary agile squads. Contribute to backend community of practices to improve processes and maintain high quality. Own code and team processes from development through production, delivering secure, well-tested, and documented software. Integrate with third parties and utilize relational databases while adhering to agile methodologies like Scrum. Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years building server-side applications
- detailed knowledge of the relevant programming languages for your stack (i.e Java 8 or newer)
- a sound knowledge of a Java backend framework (e.g. Spring/Spring Boot)
- experience with microservices and implementing and consuming RESTful APIs
- experience engineering scalable and reliable solutions
- a mindset of delivering secure, well-tested and well-documented software
- willingness to own your code and your team's processes from development to production
- exposure to complex solutions in payments-related industries
- experience integrating to third parties
- experience with relational databases
- ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- exposure to continuous integration, delivery and deployment
