Job Summary
Java Developer needed to join Orion delivery team in Lisbon. Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services; contribute to architecture of the Orion platform; deliver core features and enhancements; ensure code quality through tests and reviews; collaborate with BAs and POs to translate requirements into technical solutions; participate in Agile ceremonies; implement improvements for performance, security, and scalability; support deployments and production stability. Requires strong Java (8+), Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, relational DBs (Oracle, PostgreSQL), Git, CI/CD, Agile/Scrum, and understanding of non-functional requirements. Fluency in English and ability to work in international/distributed teams. Nice-to-haves include experience in banking/financial services, microservices, Docker/Kubernetes, and event-driven architectures.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with Java (8+)
- Proven experience with Spring / Spring Boot
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design
- Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Understanding of non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability)
- Fluent English (mandatory)
- Nice to have: Experience in banking or financial services, Knowledge of microservices architecture, Experience with Docker / Kubernetes
