Job Summary
Backend Java Developer at Endava responsible for designing, developing and integrating high-quality backend solutions. You will work closely with architects, business analysts, and clients to build secure, scalable integrations with external platforms and payment services, ensuring performance, quality, and maintainability. Core duties include developing software components per industry standards, participating in all stages of the software development lifecycle, refining backlogs and estimates, implementing API integrations, managing authentication/authorization (OAuth and certificate-based signing), code reviews, and applying new technologies as needed. The role emphasizes collaboration, continuous learning, and contributing to internal technical communities. Requires 3-5 years of experience, strong Java backend skills, REST APIs with JSON, Maven/Gradle, and a solid foundation in design patterns, SOLID principles, and agile practices.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of software development experience
- Backend development using Java 11 or higher
- Experience with Maven for dependency management and build
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs with JSON
- Experience consuming third-party APIs via generated clients (OpenAPI/Swagger)
- Knowledge of authentication/authorization mechanisms including OAuth and certificate-based signing
- Experience with Postman or similar API testing/tools
- Proficiency with Java, IntelliJ IDEA, Spring Framework, Hibernate, Maven and Gradle
- Relational database experience and SQL
- Version control with Git
- Experience with unit testing and mocking frameworks
- Knowledge of HTTP, REST, JSON, and TCP/IP protocols
- Basic knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD tools and practice
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Upper-intermediate/advanced English proficiency
- Desirable Kotlin
