Job Summary
Lead a Senior Software Engineering Manager role within JPMorgan Chase's Consumer and Community Banking - Connected Commerce Team. Provide strategic leadership and daily guidance to a team of 5-8 software engineers, overseeing design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions that comply with standards. Drive cross-team dependency management, technical troubleshooting, secure and high-quality code, and the API lifecycle from planning to decommissioning. Architect and deliver large-scale systems on AWS, emphasize automation, SDLC tooling, and continuous delivery, and analyze large data sets to inform decisions. Lead architectural discussions, build communities of practice, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure delivery against SLAs and business objectives. Requires formal software engineering training or certification, 8+ years in design/development/operational stability in large enterprises, extensive experience with Java stack (Spring Boot, Microservices, REST API), Kafka, NoSQL/SQL databases, monitoring/tracing tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Postman), and cloud architectures. Preferred AWS Certification and strong background in financial services IT systems.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years applied experience in software engineering
- 8+ years experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proven leadership managing technology projects and teams
- Hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot, Microservices, REST API)
- Experience with source code management (Git, Maven) and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with event-driven messaging and streaming technologies (Kafka)
- Experience delivering scalable, resilient systems on public cloud platforms (AWS)
- Experience with monitoring/tracing tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Postman)
- Strong analytical skills; knowledge of agile methodologies; focus on security and resiliency
