Job Summary
Lead the design and architecture of Java-based solutions tailored to meet client-specific needs. Develop code hands-on in addition to architecture solutions, including API-driven clients, microservice architectures, event-driven integrations, cloud deployments, serverless applications, and web/portal front ends. Demonstrate working knowledge of various architectural frameworks and communicate tradeoffs to clients. Collaborate across cross-functional teams to support business development and showcase CapTech's technical capabilities. Experience with Agentic AI development, AI toolsets (Claude code, CodeX, OpenClaude), and preferred AI orchestration. Create roadmaps, high-level design documents, epics and stories, and provide estimates and plans. Engage in learning initiatives and contribute to professional development through knowledge sharing, Technical Communities of Practice, and Lunch and Learns. Requirements include enterprise Java proficiency, microservice architectures, performance assessment, and the ability to relate architectural recommendations to business needs; strong design pattern knowledge; effective stakeholder communication; and experience with modern Dev/architecture practices.
Required Qualifications
- Enterprise-level experience with modern Java and its core libraries
- Hands-on software development, enterprise architecture, and directing technical teams
- Familiarity with microservice architectures, monitoring tools, databases, and containerization
- Ability to translate architectural recommendations into business outcomes
- Extensive knowledge of design patterns
- Ability to communicate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience assessing software performance and implementing optimization tools
- Preferred familiarity with LangChain, vector databases, and prompt engineering
- Knowledge of data engineering tools (Spark, Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake)
- AI/ML certifications or cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning, Azure AI Engineer)
- Experience with legacy systems and architectures including SaaS
- Willingness to work onsite as requested; remote work compatible with client needs
