Java and Database Engineer- Assistant Manager

Job Summary
Develop and maintain enterprise applications supporting Fixed Income portfolio construction and investment workflows. Design, optimize, and support complex database solutions, data models, and SQL queries. Build and enhance Java-based services, APIs, and backend components. Partner closely with Portfolio Managers, Business Analysts, and Product Owners to understand business requirements and deliver solutions. Troubleshoot production issues and support application stability and performance. Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, testing, and release activities. Contribute to application modernization, cloud adoption, and technical debt reduction initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 6-10 years of software development experience
- Strong expertise in Oracle/SQL databases, including: Data modeling, Query tuning and optimization, Stored procedures and performance troubleshooting
- Intermediate proficiency in Java development
- Experience with Spring Framework and REST APIs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder interaction skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- 6-10 years of relevant industry experience
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Fixed Income, Portfolio Management, Trading, or Asset Management domains
- Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, Maven, CI/CD pipelines
