Job Summary
Escort Japanese-speaking individuals or groups on sightseeing tours to attractions, commercial establishments, and museums. Provide educational information and assist with translation for third-party establishments like hotels and restaurants. Follow set itineraries, cater to special needs, and communicate with tour conductors in Japanese. Complete VIP Royal Road Customer's Tour Reports as needed. Assist with hotel check-ins/out, airport check-ins, dining reservations, and gate directions. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Japanese language skills (speaking, reading, writing)
- High School graduate or equivalent experience
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Able to effectively and professionally communicate with employees, business partners, and clients in English and Japanese, via written and verbal communication methods
- Able to read tour itinerary in English and Japanese
- Basic computer skills and working knowledge of hardware, software applications, such as Word Outlook
- Able to handle stressful situations and solve problems in a calm, professional manner
- Able to handle multiple tasks
- Constant - requires standing, walking, vision, hearing, eye-hand-foot coordination
- Constant – requires talking to customers, receiving verbal and written instruction, reading, visiting/working at different worksites
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of six (6)-months customer service experience or equivalent experience desirable
- Possess excellent customer service skills in the hospitality industry
- Possess knowledge of tour industry, tour movements, and arrangements
- Working knowledge of Hawaii's tourism infrastructure
- Understanding of different countries' tour characteristics and needs
