Job Summary

Lead the formulation and execution of the company-wide mid-term management plan, partnering with the executive team to translate long-term growth strategy into concrete actions. Define organizational design and decision-making mechanisms required for strategy execution, while building structures explicitly oriented toward value creation. Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative information on internal and external business environments to structure key management issues and provide clear recommendations on resource allocation. Collaborate with Finance and Corporate Administration to formulate committed financial targets, cascade them into KPIs for each function, and ensure strong alignment between strategy and financial metrics through rigorous management. Design and drive the implementation of advanced management control methods and governance frameworks to strengthen financial discipline, leading the transformation of decision-making processes for growth investments and cost optimization. Navigate complex interests across functions and regions to enable timely consensus-building and execution, ensuring strategy is reflected in P/L performance and KPIs.

Required Qualifications

  • Practical experience (approximately 3 or more years) in developing and executing enterprise-level strategies at a strategy consulting firm or within corporate planning / strategy functions of a business company
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects related to corporate or business strategy
  • Hands-on experience not limited to strategy formulation, but extending through execution and value creation, including KPI design, progress management, and decision-making support
  • Professional experience in the pharmaceutical and/or life sciences industry
  • Ability to structure complex and highly uncertain management issues, clarify key priorities, and derive sound conclusions
  • Capability to integrate quantitative and qualitative information and present clear, actionable options regarding 'what management needs to decide'
  • Intellectual stamina to think through the entire process end-to-end, from hypothesis formulation and validation to decision-making and execution
  • Solid understanding of management-related financials, including business planning, profit and loss structures, investment decision-making, and capital efficiency
  • Ability to design and operate numerical metrics not merely as outcome indicators, but as management KPIs that drive strategy and behavior
  • Ability to engage in peer-level discussions with executives and senior leaders, and to move consensus forward even amid differing opinions and conflicting interests
  • Leadership to drive decision-making and execution while engaging stakeholders across global regions, including overseas markets
  • Strong communication skills to prepare decision-making materials for senior management and convey complex topics clearly, concisely, logically, and persuasively without ambiguity
  • Business proficiency in both Japanese and English, with the ability to lead explanations, discussions, and decision-making with senior management and stakeholders in both languages
