Job Summary
Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors using industrial machines while moving furniture, crates, and equipment to access cleaned areas. Dust and wash walls, ceilings, and light fixtures; remove stains from rugs, drapes, and surfaces using chemicals. Shampoo assigned carpeted areas, empty waste baskets, replace liners, and spot clean soiled carpets. Maintain janitor closets, operate heavy-duty floor machines and carpet extractors, and label chemicals correctly. Inspect assigned areas for cleanliness and repairs, reporting problems to the supervisor. Comply with all safety regulations, sanitation policies, and company procedures. Maintain a neat appearance and speak English and Spanish.
Required Qualifications
- Working experience of basic janitorial duties and responsibilities
- Good listening and verbal communication skills
- Ability to speak English and Spanish
- Must maintain a neat appearance
- Must attend periodic training and safety meetings
- Must be able to understand and anticipate the needs of the clients
- Must be punctual
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial facilities and building janitorial work
- Ability to lift and/or move a minimum of 40 pounds of office and facilities equipment (cleaning products, tools, and ladders) and trash
- Ability to safely use equipment provided
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Knowledge in airport operation cleaning
- Experience in commercial facilities and building janitorial work
