Job Summary
Clean and empty trash in the Museum Center offices, restrooms, work areas, public areas, and break rooms. Maintain restrooms on grounds including Clowes Commons, Bayt, Necessary, Amenities, Facilities, President's House, and the Welcome Center by cleaning, polishing, and disinfecting fixtures while replenishing supplies. Provide support for the Conner Prairies recycling program and keep supply rooms stocked. Uphold the mission and policies of Conner Prairie, maintain attendance standards, and communicate effectively with others. Adhere to Conner Prairie Conduct and Work Rules, DEAI Promise Statement, and safe work habits. Work day, evening, night, and weekend shifts, including special events, with a salary of $16/hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to sit
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to talk or hear
- Must be able to stand
- Must be able to walk
- Must be able to climb or balance
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Must have close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
- Must have distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
- Must have color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
- Must have peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)
- Must have depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
- Must have the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
- Must be able to work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather)
- Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions
- Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to work in high, precarious places
- Must be able to work near fumes or airborne particles
- Must be able to work with toxic or caustic chemicals
- Must be able to work in extreme cold (non-weather)
- Must be able to work in extreme heat (non-weather)
- Must be able to deal with risk of electrical shock
- Must be able to work with explosives
- Must be available to work beyond standard hours (10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday)
